JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending August 31, 2010

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 526 calls for the month.  The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 22 Business and Residential Alarms, 18 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 11 911 Calls, 3 911 Hang-ups,  64 Animals Out, 18 Agency/Officer Assists, 1 Breaking & Entering, 5 Burglary, 2 Child Abuse, 2 Child Custody, 1 Child Neglect, 3 Damage to Property, 5 Debris in Roadway, 2 Disturbance Calls, 7 Domestics, 4 EMS/Fire Assists, 2 Emergency Calls, 2 Emergency Messages, 2 Fights, 17 Fires, 106 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 4 Juvenile Transports, 4 Juvenile Disciplinary Problems, 1 Larceny, 13 Reckless Drivers, 3 Recovery of Stolen Property, 1 Shots Fired, 1 Standby, 2 Stolen Property, 1 Stolen Vehicle/Equipment, 14 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 2 Traffic Control, 133 Traffic Stops, 1 Trash Dumping, 1 Urgent Call, 1 Vandalism, 5 Walk Thrus, 8 Welfare Checks, and answered 34 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 93 Warrants, performed 6 Sheriff Sales, and served 73 Civil Papers. 

Deputies worked a total of 26 new cases for the month of August.  The following is a breakdown of these written reports:  3 Burglary, 1 Burglary from Vehicle, 1 Counterfeiting, 1 Credit Card Fraud, 2 Driving under Suspension, 1 Failure to Register, 1 False Pretense, 5 Larceny, 1 Larceny of Motor Vehicle Parts, 1 Possession of CDS, 1 Possession of Marijuana, 1 Public Intox, 1 Reckless Driving, 1 Simple Assault, 2 Statutory Rape, and 3 Vandalsim.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on August 31st was 135 inmates.  166 inmates were booked in and 137 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 2 Inmates were transported to Lexington, Oklahoma to begin serving time with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 26,173 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
