JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending February 28, 2010

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 433 calls for the month. The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 16 Business and Residential Alarms, 12 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 6 911 Calls, 6 911 Hang-ups, 4 Animal Abuse/Neglect, 1 Animal Bite, 71 Animals Out, 21 Agency/Officer Assists, 1 Breaking and Entering, 1 Burglary, 1 Damage to Property, 8 Debris in Roadway, 6 Disturbance Calls, 3 Domestics, 6 EMS/Fire Assists, 8 Emergency Calls, 1 Emergency Message, 1 Escort, 1 Fight, 13 Fires, 56 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 5 Juvenile Transports, 4 Juvenile Disciplinary problems, 2 Larceny, 7 Reckless Drivers, 2 Recovered Stolen Property, 5 Shots Fired, 3 Standby, 19 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 102 Traffic Stops, 2 Trash Dumping, 1 Trespassing, 4 Walk Thrus, 6 Welfare Checks, and answered 28 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 59 Warrants, performed 4 Sheriff Sales, and served 40 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 15 new cases for the month of February. The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 1 Burglary, 1 Driving Under Suspension, 3 Theft, 2 Driving Under Influence, 2 Unattended Deaths, 1 Animal Bite, 1 Fraud, 1 Assault, 1 Counterfeit/Forgery, 1 Aggravated Assault, and 1 Domestic Assault and Battery.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on February 28^th was 116 inmates. 121 inmates were booked in and 143 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 3 Inmates were transported to Lexington, Oklahoma to begin serving time with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 21,106 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
