JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending August 31, 2011

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 574calls for the month.  The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 8 Business and Residential Alarms, 36 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 9 911 Calls, 3 911 Hang-ups, 6 Animal Abuse/Neglect, 84 Animals Out, 26 Agency/Officer Assists, 2 Breaking & Entering, 2 Burglary,  3 Child Custody, 1 Child Neglect, 3 Civil Disturbance, 7 Debris in Roadway, 5 Disturbance Calls, 8 Domestics, 7 EMS/Fire Assists, 6 Emergency Calls, 1 Emergency Message, 6 Escort, 2 Fight, 18 Fires, 66 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 6 Juvenile Transports, 1 Juvenile Disciplinary problems,  1 Larceny, 2 Recovery of Stolen Property, 6 Reckless Drivers, 1 Render Assistance, 4 Shots Fired, 2 Stand By,  6 Stolen Property, 1 Stolen Vehicle / Equipment, 23 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 2 Traffic Control, 142 Traffic Stops, 4 Trash Dumping,  4 Trespassing,  3 Vandalism, 1 Violation of a Protective Order, 2 Walk Thrus, 6 Welfare Checks, and answered 48 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 84 Warrants, performed 4 Sheriff Sales, and served 58 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 14 new cases for the month of August.  The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 1 Breaking & Entering, 1 Domestic, 1 Driving under Suspension, 1 Gas Drive Off, 2 Grand Larceny, 3 Larceny, 1 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 1 Sexual Offense, 1 Stray Animals, 1 Unattended Death, and 1 Vandalism.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on August 31st was 120 inmates.  163 inmates were booked in and 149 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 3 Inmates were transported to Lexington to begin serving their sentences with the Department of Corrections.

 

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 28,220 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
