JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending December 31, 2011

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger LeVick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 415 calls for the month. The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 13 Business and Residential Alarms, 22 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 3 911 Calls, 3 911 Hang-ups, 3 Animal Abuse/Neglect, 29 Animals Out, 1 Animal Bite, 23 Agency/Officer Assists, 1 Attempted Burglary, 3 Breaking and Entering, 4 Burglaries, 2 Child Abuse/Neglect, 4 Debris in Roadway, 7 Disturbance Calls, 4 Domestics, 11 Emergency Calls, 2 Emergency Message, 4 Escorts, 1 Fight, 12 Fires, 2 Harassment Calls, 73 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 12 Juvenile Transports, 1 Juvenile Disciplinary problem, 13 Reckless Drivers, 2 Shots Fired, 5 Stand By, 3 Stolen Vehicle / Equipment, 15 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 92 Traffic Stops, 3 Thefts, 4 Trespassing, 1 Trash Dumping, 8 Welfare Checks, and answered 31 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 67 Warrants, performed 2 Sheriff Sales, and served 19 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 17 new cases for the month of December. The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 3 Simple Assaults, 1 Stolen Property, 4 Burglaries,1 Possession with Intent to Sale, 1 D.U.I( child endangerment), 1 Domestic, 1 Attempting to Smuggle Contraband Into the Jail, 1 Protective Order Violation, and 4 Thefts.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on December 31 was 118 inmates. 131 inmates were booked in and 140 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 10 inmates transported to Lexington to begin serving their sentences with the Department of Corrections.

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 19,809 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
