JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending MAY 31, 2011

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 567 calls for the month.  The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 21 Business and Residential Alarms, 23 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 5 ATV, 9 911 Calls, 5 911 Hang-ups, 7 Animal Abuse/Neglect,  2 Animal Bite, 69 Animals Out, 24 Agency/Officer Assists, 1 Breaking & Entering, 2 Burglary,  1 Child Abuse, 1 Child Neglect, 2 Civil Disturbance, 5 Damage to Property, 11 Debris in Roadway, 11 Disturbance Calls, 6 Domestics, 15 EMS/Fire Assists, 8 Emergency Calls, 7 Escort, 30 Fires, 61 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 12 Juvenile Transports, 5 Juvenile Disciplinary problems, 2 Larceny, 2 Recovery of Stolen Property, 18 Reckless Drivers, 1 Render Assistance, 2 Shots Fired, 5 Standby, 4 Stolen Property, 21 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 2 Traffic Control, 105 Traffic Stops, 3 Trespassing,  1 Vandalism, 2 Verbal Domestic, 4 Walk Thrus, 9 Welfare Checks, and answered 42 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 47 Warrants, performed 5 Sheriff Sales, and served 54 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 13 new cases for the month of May.  The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 1 Breaking & Entering, 1 Driving Under Influence, 3 Information Only, 2 Larceny, 1 Runaway, 1 Simple Assault, 3 Stolen Vehicle, and 1 Vandalism.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on May 31st was 107 inmates.  133 inmates were booked in and 144 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 1 Inmate wAS transported to Lexington to begin serving their sentences with the Department of Corrections.

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 25,533 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
