JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending March 31, 2011

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 487 calls for the month.  The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 1 ATV, 16 Business and Residential Alarms, 12 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 8 911 Calls, 3 911 Hang-ups, 2 Animal Abuse/Neglect,  40 Animals Out, 28 Agency/Officer Assists, 2 Breaking and Entering, 1 Burglary, 2 Damage to Property, 2 Debris in Roadway, 5 Disturbance Calls, 5 Domestics, 14 EMS/Fire Assists, 11 Emergency Calls, 3 Escort, 3 Fight, 15 Fires, 89 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 12 Juvenile Transports, 2 Juvenile Disciplinary problems, 2Larceny, 1Rape, 2 Recovered Stolen Property, 9 Reckless Drivers, 2 Shootings, 1 Shots Fired, 2 Standby, 1 Stolen Property, 1 Stolen Vehicle/Equipment, 18 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 105 Traffic Stops, 7 Trespassing, 5 Vandalism, 3 Verbal Domestic, 1 Walk Thrus, 11 Welfare Checks, and answered 40 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 84 Warrants, performed 6 Sheriff Sales, and served 97 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 14 new cases for the month of March.  The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 1 Accidental Firearm Discharge with Injury, 1 Bringing Contraband into Jail, 2 Burglary,  3 Driving Under Influence, 1 Larceny, 1 Possession with Intent to Distribute, 2 Public Intoxication, 2 Rape, and 1 Theft.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on March 31st was 127 inmates.  161 inmates were booked in and 143 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 7 Inmates were transported to Lexington to begin serving their sentences with the Department of Corrections.

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 25,081 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
