JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MONTHLY REPORT

For the month ending September 30, 2011

Jackson County Sheriff, Roger Levick reports that the Jackson County Deputies responded to a total of 582 calls for the month.  The following is a summary of the calls that were responded to: 19 Business and Residential Alarms, 21 Stranded or Abandoned Vehicles, 1ATV, 6 911 Calls, 4 911 Hang-ups, 9 Animal Abuse/Neglect, 105 Animals Out, 32 Agency/Officer Assists, 2 Child Abuse, 1 Child Custody, 2 Civil Disturbance, 1 Driving Under Influence, 2 Damage to Property, 5 Debris in Roadway, 5 Disturbance Calls, 9 Domestics, 7 Emergency Calls, 1 Emergency Message, 1 Escort, 2 Fight, 18 Fires, 95 Inmate Transports either to or from the Courthouse or from another Law Enforcement Agency, 4 Juvenile Transports, 3 Juvenile Disciplinary problems, 2 Recovery of Stolen Property, 7 Reckless Drivers, 4 Shots Fired, 3 Stand By, 2 Stolen Vehicle / Equipment, 23 Suspicious Persons/Vehicles, 119 Traffic Stops, 1 Trash Dumping,  2 Trespassing, 1 Urgent Call,  2 Vandalism, 2 Walk Thrus, 8 Welfare Checks, and answered 51 other Miscellaneous Calls (Calls for Service, Civilian Transports, Open/Door Windows, Jail Assist, etc.).

Deputies served 75 Warrants, performed 2 Sheriff Sales, and served 54 Civil Papers.

Deputies worked a total of 24 new cases for the month of September.  The following is a breakdown of these written reports: 1 Contraband in Jail, 4 Damage to Property, 1 Driving Under Influence, 1 Indecent Exposure, 2 Information Reports, 1 Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property, 3 Larceny, 1 Molestation, 1 Obstruction, 4 Simple Assaults, 1 Stolen Vehicle, 1 Stray Animal, 1 Suicide, 1 Threat, and 1 Violation of a Protective Order.

Total population of the Jackson County Jail on September 30 was 126 inmates.  153 inmates were booked in and 155 inmates were released either by bonding out, time served, or court ordered release. 5 Inmates were transported to Lexington to begin serving their sentences with the Department of Corrections.

 

The Department, as a whole, drove a total of 22,047 miles for the month in performance of their duties.
